State of Origin: Will Chambers 'not too worried' about Latrell Mitchell image

Veteran Queensland centre Will Chambers claims he isn't fazed by the danger NSW counterpart Latrell Mitchell will present when they reignite their rivalry at Suncorp Stadium next Wednesday.

Chambers is considered the game's best niggler but has met his match in Mitchell, who seems able to irk the 31-year-old like few others.

Mitchell outplayed Chambers in last year's series with the Blues securing a 2-1 series win, continuing his dominance as his Sydney Roosters beat Chambers' Melbourne Storm in the grand final.

But Chambers, who has earned 10 Origin caps, says he is not concerned by having to mark Mitchell again.

Appearing on NRL 360 on Wednesday, Chambers was quizzed about comments the great Darren Lockyer made saying the outside back needs to "aim up" versus Mitchell.

Chambers missed 15 tackles last series (per NRL.com), including 10 in game one as Mitchell racked up an incredible 11 tackle breaks in his Origin debut.

However, the Queenslander insisted he bears no scars from his previous encounters with Mitchell.

"It’s obviously been seen and I’m not too worried about the past, there are three games to be played this year," Chambers said defiantly.

“It’s easy for people to read and write stuff. It’s about actions and how they come out next Wednesday night and I know I’ve got a job to do to make this state proud.

“I’m not too worried about Latrell, to be honest. I’m more worried about Queensland and making sure we get everything right as a group and as a team and prepare for Wednesday.”
