The once-promising career of Myles Taueli is finished after the sacked Brisbane Broncos forward was last week jailed for two years over a brutal Christmas Day assault.
Taueli was elevated to the Broncos' top 30 squad this season and was on the cusp of making his NRL debut in 2019.
But the 23-year-old will likely never become a first grade player after he coward punched a man on the Central Coast on December 25.

His victim was left with a shattered jaw, a broken nose and loose teeth.
Taueli was previously axed by the Cronulla Sharks in 2016 following a drink driving charge.
After repeated DUI indiscretions, he spent five months behind bars later that year.
The prop received a rugby league lifeline in 2017 with Queensland Cup team Redcliffe Dolphins and claimed to have changed for the better.
Taueli signed a two-year contract with Brisbane at the start of last season but his deal was swiftly terminated after he was charged with assault.
He pleaded guilty and was convicted of the attack plus resisting arrest and destroying or damaging property.
Only a few years ago, Taueli was considered among the brightest prospects in the game, selected in the under 20s NSW Emerging Blues squad in 2014.
But instead of progressing to the big time, Taueli will be locked in a cell until at least April 8, 2020, when he will be eligible for parole.
The Broncos proved again on Wednesday that they won't cop any misbehaviour, fining Payne Haas $20,000 and suspending him for four premiership games for not complying with the NRL integrity unit.
