Alex Twal loses contrary conduct challenge for hair pull on Dominic Young
Wests Tigers forward Alex Twal will now pay a fine of $2,550 for his hair pull on Dominic Young after failing at the NRL judiciary on Tuesday night.
Twal was cited for an alleged hair pull on young Knights centre Dominic Young in the opening set of his side's win over Newcastle.
The lock forward could've accepted a $1900 fine with an early guilty plea but chose to challenge and failed, seeing the fine bumped up $650.
Briton Nikora accepts two-game ban for shoulder charge
A failed HIA and a shoulder charge in quick succession - a very busy stint on the field for the Sharks forward.
Nikora is looking at two weeks on the sidelines for his grade 1 shoulder charge on Clint Gutherson after he took the early plea.
The second-rower was also sidelined due to a head knock for a large part of the Sharks loss on Saturday night.
Josh Jackson set for one-match ban for crusher
Canterbury Bulldogs captain Josh Jackson is facing a week on the sidelines, after he was cited for a crusher tackle during their loss to the Broncos.
The 30-year old was hit with a grade 1 crusher tackle involving opposing skipper Alex Glenn during the first half of the 24-0 loss.
Renouf Atoni was also charged for the Bulldogs for a high shot on Anthony Milford, but is only facing a fine.
Daniel Suluka-Fifita charged with striking
Daniel Suluka-Fifita will miss one match for his punch to the back of Jai Arrow's head that saw the young Roosters forward sin-binned.
The 21-year-old was hit with a grade-one striking charge which will see him sidelined for one week after accepting the early guilty plea.
Teammate Freddy Lussick was the only other player charged from the game, he'll be $1150 lighter in the pocket if he takes the early plea for dangerous contact on Adam Reynolds.
Jack Bird accepts one-game ban for Suli incident
Dragons centre Jack Bird has accepted a one game ban after he was charged with grade-two contrary conduct in an incident that led to a flare-up between him and Manly counterpart Moses Suli.
Bird appeared to stomp on Suli's leg while the Sea Eagles player was down, seeing both teams run in as tempers flared.
The one-match ban will see Bird miss Sunday's encounter with the Knights.
Cameron Munster cleared for hip drop tackle
Cameron Munster has avoided sanctioning despite a hip-drop tackle on Spencer Leniu, while Stephen Crichton has been charged for dangerous contact on Chris Lewis.
Ivan Cleary took aim at Munster after Penrith's brave 12-10 win over Melbourne after Leniu was forced from the field following the ugly twisting tackle from the Storm five-eighth.
However, to the surprise of many, the NRL's charges sheet released on Friday morning did not include any sanctioning for Munster.
Stephen Crichton charged for dangerous contact, avoids ban
Crichton has received a grade one dangerous contact (head/neck) charge, following a tackle in the 47th minute on Storm forward Chris Lewis.
Crichton can accept a $1150 fine with an early guilty plea, or a $15000 fine if he's unsuccessful at the judiciary.
Who's due back from suspension in round four?
Kevin Walters will be anticipating the return of Payne Haas , whose three-game ban for a pre-season altercation with police on the Gold Coast expires.
