The finals action continued in reserve grade over the weekend, with two teams securing their spot in the Queensland Cup decider.
The Burleigh Bears annihilated the Wynnum-Manly Seagulls to reach next week's grand final, while the Brisbane Tigers won a hard-fought match against the Central Queensland Capras.
South of the border, the New Zealand Warriors ended the Canberra Raiders' season in emphatic fashion.
The South Sydney Rabbitohs then booked their spot in the NSW Cup grand final, with the North Sydney Bears given one more chance next week despite the loss.
The Sporting News has picked five standout performers from the recent NSW Cup and QLD Cup matches.

Keano Kini - Burleigh Bears
Kini was electric at fullback for the Bears in their 57-8 thrashing of the Seagulls.
He set the tone early, scoring two tries within 25 minutes.
By the conclusion of the match, he had recorded a game-high 218 run metres and nine tackle breaks.
His defensive efforts were also notable, making four tackles with 100 per cent efficiency.
Pat Politoni - Burleigh Bears
The Bears were so dominant on the weekend that we had to include two of their players.
Politoni brought out the best of his team, doing plenty of the grunt work at hooker.
His 40 tackles — with just one miss — were the most of any player.
He also recorded a line break assist, a try assist, and went the entire match without making an error.
Solomona Faataape - Brisbane Tigers
In the Tigers' hard-fought 14-6 win over the Capras, Faataape was the difference-maker.
After conceding early, his first-half try gave Brisbane the lead, and they held on from that point to book a spot in the final.
He recorded a game-high 282 run metres and made two offloads in a strong performance at centre.
Ronald Volkman - New Zealand Warriors
Volkman was instrumental at halfback for the Warriors in their huge 49-6 win over the Raiders.
He contributed four try assists and a line break assist in a terrific playmaking performance.
Fortunately, his sub-par goal-kicking — making just five of eight conversions — ultimately didn't matter in the blowout result.
Tyrone Munro - South Sydney Rabbitohs
Young gun Munro starred on the wing for the Rabbitohs as they upset the Bears 30-24.
He scored two tries in the first half as South Sydney raced out to an early lead, which they were able to hold on to.
Munro also made a team-high two offloads while recording 185 run metres.
