NRL 2024: Every club's top 30 squad and development list for the season image

The 2024 NRL season is underway, with every club still in the midst of their recruitment and retention drives. 

Penrith and Brisbane have both paid the price for their success, losing some key stars from their grand final lineups, while the likes of the Roosters and Bulldogs have added some important names. 

At this stage, almost every club still has a spot or two available in their rosters for the campaign.

Broncos squad and contract news: Fletcher Baker and Jaiyden Hunt have joined the club on two-year deals, while both Tom Flegler and Herbie Farnworth have moved to the Dolphins.

Tristan Sailor has been upgraded to the top squad, while back-rower Keenan Palasia has signed with the Titans on a multi-year contract.

Kurt Capewell was granted an early release from his contract to link up with the Warriors. 

Ezra Mam has signed a five-year extension with Adam Reynolds also inking a new deal.

Jack Gosiewski has joined two months into the new season after being granted a release from the Cowboys.

Raiders squad and contract news: Jarrod Croker has retired from the NRL after a lengthy career, while five-eighth Jack Wighton has moved to South Sydney on a bumper four-year deal.

Chevy Stewart has been upgraded to the top 30 roster, while Simi Sasagi has signed from the Knights for this year and Kaeo Weekes has joined from Manly.

The club have also added a new Englishman to the ranks, with lock-forward Morgan Smithies joining on a three-year deal, while Zac Hosking will further boost their backrow stocks. 

Brad Morkos and Harley Smith-Shields have both been granted an early release from their contracts, while Matt Frawley has left for the Super League. 

Nick Cotric will leave at the end of the season after signing a three-year deal with the Catalans Dragons.

Bulldogs contract news: Canterbury have added a host of stars for 2024, with the likes of Stephen Crichton, Bronson Xerri and Blake Taaffe adding depth and quality to the backline.

Tevita Pangai Junior has retired from rugby league, while the likes of Jake Averillo, Luke Thompson, Kyle Flanagan, Braidon Burns and Raymond Faitala-Mariner have moved on. 

Young guns Blake Wilson and Sam Hughes have inked extensions, while versatile back-rower Josh Curran has signed a two-year deal after being granted a release from the Warriors.

Canterbury have also added Drew Hutchison, Kurt Mann, Jake Turpin and Daniel Suluka-Fifita, while Mitchell Woods has signed a long-term deal which will see him join the top 30 squad in 2025. 

Kurtis Morrin has been promoted into the top 30 squad, while they have also added prop Tom Amone on a two-year deal from next season.

Sharks squad and contract news: There has been very little changeover in the Cronulla roster for the season, with captain Wade Graham announcing his retirement and veteran playmaker Matt Moylan granted an early release along with Connor Tracey.

However, they have signed Addin Fonua-Blake from 2025 onwards in a major coup for the club. 

Dale Finucane has announced his retirement from the game just eight weeks into the new season.

Dolphins squad and contract news: Three massive signings for the Dolphins, with star centres Jake Averillo and Herbie Farnworth joining representative front-rower Tom Flegler as the club's recruits.

Newcastle young gun Oryn Keeley has also signed on a three-year deal, while Wests Tigers flyer Junior Tupou will join the club next year. 

Kulikefu Finefeuiaki has also been signed from the Cowboys on a long-term deal from 2025 onwards. 

Brenko Lee, Herman Ese'ese and Poasa Faamausili have left after one season, while JJ Collins was unsigned. 

The likes of Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, Isaiya Katoa, Mark Nicholls and Kurt Donoghoe have signed contract extensions, while Tevita Pangai Junior has joined for the second half of the season.

Titans squad and contract news: The side weclomes new coach Des Hasler into the fold, with captain Tino Fa'asuamaleaui having signed a long-term extension at the club.

Keenan Palasia has joined the club on a two-year deal, while Harley Smith-Shields has joined from Canberra.

Jacob Alick has signed a one-year extension after making his first-grade debut in 2023, while Iszac Fa’asuamaleaui, Ryan Foran and Josiah Pahulu have been elevated into the top 30 squad.

Ben Liyou and Seth Nikotemo will follow the same path in 2025. 

Treymain Spry has been granted an early release from his contract for next season, while Kruise Leeming has returned to the Super League, Joe Vuna has been unsigned, and Aaron Schoupp left midway through the season.

Sea Eagles squad and contract news: Manly have added some quality players to their roster, with experienced playmaker Luke Brooks to partner Daly Cherry-Evans in the halves.

Tommy Talau and Jaxson Paulo will add depth to the outside backs, while Corey Waddell has joined from the Dogs and Nathan Brown has been elevated from a train-and-trial deal. 

The Fainu brothers, Kelma Tuilagi, Sean Keppie, Morgan Harper, Kaeo Weekes and Christian Tuipolotu have all moved on to greener pastures, while Cooper Johns has walked away from the game to pursue a media career and Zac Fulton has moved to the UK. 

Aaron Woods has been retained on a supplementary deal, while Bailey Hodgson has joined from Newcastle. 

Clayton Faulalo will join the top 30 in 2025, along with Aitasi James and Dean Matterson. 

Karl Lawton will depart from the club next season after inking a deal with the Cowboys, although they have signed Aaron Schoupp on the eve of Round 12 on a two-year deal and Jake Simpkin ahead of Round 14.

Storm squad and contract news: Young gun Sua Fa'alogo has been promoted to the Storm's top 30 for 2024.

Elsewhere, there is a lack of change to the Melbourne roster for the upcoming campaign, with the likes of Tariq Sims, Jayden Nikorima and Tom Eisenhuth moving on.

The club have re-signed Tepai Moeroa, Grant Anderson and Dean Ieremia on fresh one-year contracts to remain in Melbourne. 

In a late swap, the Storm have landed Shawn Blore from the Tigers with Justin Olam going the other way, while they have also signed Ativalu Lisati from Penrith.

Knights squad and contract news: Plenty of changes to the Newcastle top 30 this season, with star winger Dom Young moving on, while English stars Will Pryce and Kai Pearce-Paul join the club.

Jack Cogger adds depth in the halves, while Lachlan Fitzgibbon ends a lengthy tenure in the Hunter and has moved to the Super League. 

Tom Jenkins has signed with the club on a two-year deal from the Panthers, while Fletcher Sharpe has been promoted into the top 30. 

Hymel Hunt and Jack Johns went unsigned while Ryan Rivett joined Toulouse Olympique and Jed Cartwright was granted a release midway through the season to join Hull FC.

Warriors squad and contract news: After an impressive 2023 campaign, the club have welcomed back favourite sons Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Chanel Harris-Tavita, adding immediate class and experience to the roster.

Andrew Webster hasn't made too many other changes to his squad, with depth players Viliami Vailea and Bayley Sironen confirmed departures.

Kurt Capewell has joined the club, while Josh Curran has left for Canterbury. 

Addin Fonua-Blake will remain at the Warriors for one more season before being released from his contract to join Cronulla, while they will offset this loss with the massive signing of James Fisher-Harris. 

Jett Cleary will also sign for the Warriors from the Panthers on a three-year deal, while Wayde Egan signed a new long-term deal with the club.

Cowboys squad and contract news: James Tamou and Peta Hiku have both departed the NRL, while a number of other North Queensland's depth players were let go, including Ben Hampton and Brendan Elliot. 

Jake Clifford has returned to his former club on a one-year deal, adding to the club's halves.

Viliami Vailea has been signed, while Jordan McLean has inked a one-year extension to remain at the Cowboys and Thomas Mikaele has been added to the forward stocks. 

In a shock move, Luciano Leilua has been granted a release to join the Dragons. 

Meanwhile, Harrison Edwards has signed from the Bulldogs while Jack Gosiewski was released to the Broncos mid-season. 

Karl Lawton will join the club next year, while Braidon Burns has made the move immediately on a two-year deal.

Eels squad and contract news: Two main signings for Parramatta, with back-rower Kelma Tuilagi and Morgan Harper both joining from the Sea Eagles on two-year deals.

Josh Hodgson has officially announced his retirement after a storied career in the top grade, with Andrew Davey also forced into early retirement due to concussions.

Waqa Blake, Jack Murchie and Samuel Loizou have departed. Meanwhile, Jirah Momoisea has been released just one week into the new season, with Ky Rodwell following him out of the door. 

Zac Lomax will join the club on a long-term deal in 2025 after being granted an early release from the Dragons.

Panthers squad and contract news: Mixed news on the recruitment and retention front for the reigning champs.

Stephen Crichton and Spencer Leniu have both left the club for big-money deals at rival clubs, while the likes of Zac Hosking, Jack Cogger and Jaeman Salmon have also departed.

However, the additions of Paul Alamoti, Daine Laurie and Brad Schneier sure up some important areas for the powerhouse club.

James Fisher-Harris shocked the club with a request for an early release from his deal just weeks into the new season, which was granted. The Kiwi prop will depart at the end of the season, while Sunia Turuva will follow him out of the door as he heads to the Tigers. 

Jarome Luai will also leave at the end of the campaign after signing a lucrative deal with the Tigers.  

Asu Kepaoa has joined the club midway through the season after being granted an early release.

Dragons squad and contract news: Incoming head coach Shane Flanagan has added multiple players to the Red V roster, with his son Kyle and front-rower Hame Sele joining the ranks.

Luciano Leilua has re-joined the club, with Corey Allan and Cody Ramsey exiting the top 30 squad for this year. Allan's contract, however, has been extended to 2025 as he recovers from injury.

Tom Eisenhuth has also been signed to the top 30 squad, along with Jesse Marschke after Ronald Volkman was cut from the club following the discovery of a long-term injury. 

Raymond Faitala-Mariner has signed late in the piece after being granted a release from Canterbury, along with Fa'amanu Brown. 

However, the club have parted ways with young playmaker Bud Sullivan, while prop Zane Musgrove and Christian Tuipulotu have also been released along with Paul Turner. 

Junior Amone has been deregistered from the NRL, while Zac Lomax will leave the club at the end of the season in two major blows.

Rabbitohs squad and contract news: The name on everyone's lips heading into the season is Jack Wighton, who has left the Raiders behind for a long-term contact at Redfern.

The club have managed to keep the remainder of their roster largely in-tact, with Hame Sele and Blake Taaffe the only notable departures, while Sean Keppie has joined from Manly to add depth in the middle. 

Tom Burgess will depart from the club at the end of the season after signing a deal with Huddersfield, while Lachlan Ilias is likely to join him in departures after being granted permission to negotiate with rival clubs.

Roosters squad and contract news: Two major additions to the roster at Bondi, with prop Spencer Leniu and towering winger Dom Young both joining on long-term agreements.

The club have lost some depth, with the likes of Jaxson Paulo, Paul Momirovski and Fletcher Baker all moving on. 

Connor Watson and Billy Smith have both signed extensions to remain at the Roosters. 

However, a massive period of change awaits for the club in the off-season with Jared Waerea-Hargreaves leaving to the Super League and Joseph Suaali'i and Joey Manu switching to union. 

Luke Keary announced his retirement from the game at the end of the 2024 campaign. 

Meanwhile, union convert Mark Nawaqanitawase will join the club after the Olympics, while Angus Crichton has inked an extension.

Tigers squad and contract news: Benji Marshall has added a mix of experience and youth to his playmaking stocks, with the NRL return of Aidan Sezer complimenting the arrivals of Bud Sullivan and Latu Fainu.

After a tumultuous run at the club, Luke Brooks has moved to Manly, while the club have also farewelled Daine Laurie and Tommy Talau.

David Nofoaluma has left the club after over a decade of service reportedly following an ugly spat with Marshall. 

A number of players, including young hooker Tallyn Da Silva, have been upgraded to the club's top 30 roster, while both Triston Reilly and Brandon Webster-Manfield have been released.

Charlie Staines has re-signed for a further two seasons. The Tigers have also landed towering outside back Solomon Alaimalo, a Kiwi rugby convert.

Meanwhile, Jarome Luai will join the club in 2025 after agreeing to leave Penrith. Luai's signing came one week before Justin Olam's immediate arrival at Concord with Shawn Blore leaving for Melbourne. 

Junior Tupou's exit to the Dolphins next season has been offset by the signing of Sunia Turuva, while Adam Doueihi has signed an extension.  

Isaiah Papali'i will depart from the club at the end of the season after being granted an early release, while Jake Simpkin and Asu Kepaoa departed immediately mid-season.
