Manly Sea Eagles playmaker Kane Elgey has announced his retirement from the NRL after just 58 games in first grade.
The 25-year old debuted in 2015 for the Gold Coast Titans and went on to play 46 games for the club before signing with Manly.
He managed just 12 games this season at NRL level for the Sea Eagles, and took to Instagram today to announce he was hanging up the boots.
"After months of consideration I have decided to officially retire from the NRL and move back home with my beautiful girl @georgieoram and start the next chapter of our lives," he said.
"It’s been a roller coaster ride and I’m stoked with what I’ve achieved in a short time!

"I just know deep down I don’t love it like I use to and when you lose that it’s very hard to keep doing it at a high level.
"Thanks to everyone that I have met on the ride and who has supported me. Love yahs."
A former Australian Schoolboy and NYC Player of the Year, the talented halfback also represented the Prime Minister's XIII in 2015.
