A freakish try-assist from Canberra Raiders second-rower Elliott Whitehead has set up the opening try of their clash with the New Zealand Warriors, wiith rookie Sebastian Kris reaping the rewards.
In the 9th minute at GIO Stadium, representative five-eighth Jack Wighton put a well-weighted grubber into the in-goal which looked certain to roll dead.
But Whitehead steamed past a couple of lazy Warriors chasers and flew through the air to bat it back to Kris.
It was an impressive feat from the Pommy star, who has had a fantastic season for the Green Machine.
Elliott Whitehead made good use of his electric scooter there! #nrlraiderswarriors

The Warriors hit back with just under 20 minutes remaining in the opening half.
The Raiders need to win to secure 3rd spot on the NRL ladder.
