Jake Trbojevic has been dealt a devastating blow, with the Manly forward set to miss the entire State of Origin series due to a torn calf.

The lock-forward returned early from the initial calf injury and helped the Sea Eagles to a massive win over Canberra in Round 12, putting him back in the mix for a spot in the NSW lineup.

But on Sunday night, news broke that Trbojevic had withdrawn himself from selection and would be replaced in the front-row by Bulldogs enforcer Tevita Pangai Junior.

Manly have now released a statement confirming the severity of Trbojevic's injury.

How long is Jake Trbojevic out?

Trbojevic is set to miss the next six weeks according to the club, ruling him out of the entire State of Origin series. His likely return will come in Manly's Round 20 clash with the Cowboys.

After missing a fortnight for his club side, the 29-year-old made an early comeback and re-aggravated the injury, putting himself back on the shelf long-term.

On top of Jake's injury, younger brother Ben will also miss an indefinite period due to a torn hamstring suffered against the Raiders.
