The Titans have confirmed reports emerging outside back Treymain Spry is recovering, having sustained potentially life-threatening injuries in an incident in Brisbane recently.

Gold Coast released a statement on Thursday, confirming Spry had been cleared of any wrongdoing over the matter.

"As per media reports, the Gold Coast Titans can confirm Treymain Spry is recovering from an off-field incident," a club statement read.

"Treymain has been cleared of any wrongdoing by Queensland Police and the NRL Integrity Unit.

"As the matter is now before the courts, the club will make no further comment at this stage."

A report in the Courier Mail on Thursday revealed the 22-year-old had suffered a fractured skull and eye socket, as well as bleeding on the brain, after an argument turned violent in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley a fortnight ago.

The report claims Spry was out with his partner in the popular nightlife precinct when he crossed paths with his ex-girlfriend, leading to a verbal argument.

Spry was then reportedly coward punched and violently beaten by his ex-girlfriend's current partner, after which the Titans flyer was rushed to hospital.

His attacker has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will face court in May.

Spry made his NRL debut with Gold Coast in 2020, playing five games that season before failing to add to his tally last year.

The Courier Mail reports Spry is in a stable condition and recovering at home.
