The Melbourne Storm have been firmly in the driver's seat for most of this NRL season, claiming the minor premiership with two rounds remaining, and expected by many to win their first title since 2020.
But despite being one of the most successful franchises both this season and since their inception, the Storm's drive remains relentless, as evidenced by star five-eighth Cameron Munster.
Munster has won at every level, from club to State of Origin and even for the national team, but there is one loss that keeps him up at night, and has helped drive this season's success.

How 2021 failure has inspired Cameron Munster
In 2020, the Melbourne Storm captured their fourth official NRL premierships - not counting the 2007 and 2009 titles stripped as a result of the salary cap scandal.
They looked like they had only improved the next season, winning the minor premiership and a record 19-straight games, but instead were on the receiving end of some revenge from the Penrith Panthers, who went on to win their first of three straight titles.
It was this missed opportunity which has lit a fire under Munster, who told AAP that he is determined to not let another chance go begging in 2024.
"In 2022 and 2023 Penrith were the best side all year but in 2021 it was anyone's competition. I think that was the most hurtful thing," Munster said.
"Anyone could have won it and I think that's what burns me, burns Bellyache (coach Craig Bellamy) and burns half the squad.
"That was probably a year gone begging for us.
"Of course we'd like to make amends. You can't dwell on the past but hopefully we can learn from it.
"I've been lucky enough to be in three grand finals in a row - 2016, 2017 and 2018 - and I thought it comes every year.
"It doesn't happen. I've realised that in the last four years. It takes a lot of hard work and a deep squad to be able to give yourself a chance in grand finals.
"I feel like we've got the squad to do it this year. It's just a matter if we want it more."
The Storm will get their quest for the elusive title started this Saturday, when they host the Cronulla Sharks.
