England have named a provisional 31-player squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Samoa.
Shaun Wane’s side made light work of Tonga last year in a series clean sweep and will be looking to continue their momentum ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
The home series will offer the English the chance to gain revenge after the last time the two teams met, the Samoans advanced into the World Cup decider with a fairytale semi-final win in 2022.

England name Test match squad for home series against Samoa
"I’m pleased to have been able to put together a strong and talented squad as we look ahead to the end-of-season Test matches against Samoa," Wane said.
"There have been several players who have been performing consistently in both the Betfred Super League and the NRL and it has given me some real competition for places.
"I am expecting these players to continue to stand up at the business end of the season and earn their place in the final squad I assemble to face Samoa."
Wane has opted to name an experienced group for the Test series with just two uncapped players included.
Wigan duo Junior Nsemba and Liam Marshall have an opportunity to debut for the national side at the end of the year.
At the opposite end of the spectrum, Wane has shown loyalty towards a couple of old chargers with John Bateman and Chris Hill named.
The backrower moved to Warrington midway through the season after being temporarily released by the Wests Tigers.
Although he has so far struggled to recapture his best form in the Super League, while Hill is also a surprise pick ahead of fellow veteran Alex Walmsley.

There are six current NRL players named in the side with Victor Radley set to be given every chance of recovering from a fractured scapula to feature for his adopted country.
The Sydney Roosters forward is joined by Dom Young, Herbie Farnworth, Kai Pearce-Paul, Morgan Smithies and Tom Burgess.
Former NRL exports George Williams and Luke Thompson have also been included.
