Reagan Campbell-Gillard has signed off season 2024 and his Parramatta Eels career by jagging the NRL club’s Player of the Year award.

On the same day that the Eels confirmed the former Test and Origin prop has been released from the remainder of his contract, Campbell-Gillard took home the Ken Thornett Medal while Clint Gutherson was rewarded with the Nathan Hindmarsh NRL Players' Player Award.

Parramatta football boss Mark O’Neill said releasing a quality player is never easy but thanked Campbell-Gillard for his services to the club.

"We thank Reagan for his dedicated service to the Eels and wish him, his partner Alira and their young family all the very best for the future."

With his time in Parramatta officially over, Campbell-Gillard's signature will now be one of the most coveted on the market, a former State of Origin and dual-international representative who was instrumental in the Eels 2021 grand final run.

The Cowboys, Dolphins and Bulldogs are all reportedly interested, as well as the Broncos, who are pivoting after losing out on the Corey Horsburgh sweep stakes.

The Dragons were said to be in the driving seat for his talents earlier this season, but this has since been put to bed, with the Red V reportedly not willing to table a contract long enough to satisfy the player.

The prop made the first of his 107 NRL appearances with the Eels in 2020, winning the Coaches’ Award in 2021, earning NSW Origin selection in 2022 and 2023 while also returning to the Kangaroos in 2022 after a five-year hiatus.
