Melbourne Storm v Canterbury Bulldogs: Dylan Napa heads up the tunnel with ankle injury image

Dylan Napa's Sunday afternoon lasted all but 16 minutes after the Bulldogs prop suffered an ankle injury in the very first set of Canterbury's clash against Melbourne at AAMI Park.

The Queensland forward bravely pushed through but called for the trainer after rolling his ankle early on in a tackle attempt on Storm lock Dale Finucane.

Napa is suspected of sustaining a syndesmosis injury, or high ankle sprain in simple terms, and headed straight up the tunnel for assessment.

According to the NRL Physio, Napa will miss anywhere between two to four weeks of action for a grade one syndesmosis, but could miss up 12 weeks with a grade three injury.

Harawira-Naera was able to return to the field in the second half after passing his HIA assessment, however Napa will sit out the rest of the game on the bench.

Last week the Dogs lost star halfback Kieran Foran for around three months with an ankle injury.

At half-time, it was unclear if both players would return to the game.
