David Nofoaluma has completed a switch from the NRL to the Super League, officially joining the Salford Red Devils.

The winger's departure from the Wests Tigers was confirmed in January when the veteran and club agreed to an immediate termination of his contract.

Nofoaluma had two years remaining on that deal, but animosity had been building in the background between the joint venture and their all-time leading try-scorer after he was issued with breach notices in short succession.

Nofoaluma has signed a one-year deal with Salford and becomes the club's ninth signing of the transfer window.

The Eccles-based club finished seventh in last year's Super League competition and last won the English top-flight title in the 1975–76 season.

"I am pleased to add David to the group as we continue to build our squad," Salford head coach Paul Rowley said.

"He replaces a couple of places vacated by Ken (Sio) and Joe (Burgess), who were both fantastic players for us.

"David’s CV is fantastic, and again, the influence and mutual respect that Krissy (Inu) has with players in world rugby has proven fruitful.

"Our quality back line has now got the competition needed in every position.

"Myself, the staff, and players are looking forward to seeing an exceptional player and character join us on our Super League journey."

There is no indication when Nofoaluma will make his debut for the club.

The writing appeared to be on the wall for Nofoaluma after he moved to the Melbourne Storm on a loan deal two years ago as the Tigers slumped to a last-placed finish.

However, he returned to Concord last season and featured 15 times as the club picked up a second successive wooden spoon.

The 30-year-old has been on the outer since Benji Marshall took over from Tim Sheens with the pair reportedly not seeing eye-to-eye over the new training regime the rookie coach has implemented.
