David Nofoaluma’s departure from the Wests Tigers has been confirmed with the veteran winger and club agreeing to an immediate termination of his contract by mutual consent.
Nofoaluma had two years remaining on his deal, but animosity had been building in the background for some time now between the joint venture and their all-time leading try-scorer after he was issued with a number of breach notices in short succession.
David Nofoaluma exits Wests Tigers after ugly standoff
The writing appeared to be on the wall for Nofoaluma after he headed to the Melbourne Storm on a short-term deal two years ago as the Tigers slumped to a last-placed finish.

However, he returned to the fray last season and featured 15 times as the club picked up a second successive wooden spoon.
The 30-year-old has been on the outer since Benji Marshall took over from Tim Sheens with the two reportedly not seeing eye to eye over the new training regime the rookie coach has implemented at Concord.
And now the Tigers have confirmed the two parties have mutually agreed to cut ties.
"We thank David for all that he has given to this club over the past decade," Tigers interim CEO Shane Richardson said in a short statement.
"We wish David all the very best with his future."
Nofoaluma will allegedly receive a healthy payout to leave the Tigers after it was reported he had become angry after being told by Marshall he would not play in the NRL under him throughout his remaining time at the club.
Since debuting for the Tigers in 2013, Nofoaluma has made 192 appearances and brought up a century of four-pointers last year.
The ugly exit of Nofoaluma continues a period of massive upheaval at the struggling club with Marshall tasked with reversing their fortunes.
The entire board was dismissed following an internal review, while Nofoaluma joins a hefty list of player departures alongside the likes of Luke Brooks, Daine Laurie and Shawn Blore in the off-season.
