The Lurker's Dally M: James Tedesco has all but won the 2019 crown

James Tedesco will need to poll just one Dally M point if he is to become my 2019 Dally M winner.

The Roosters fullback ran for 196 metres and scored a try in the 22 -6 win, doing enough to get two points off me for the game, taking his season tally to 30 Dally M points.

Sam Verrills’ game-leading 50 tackles got him the three points, while resurgent forward Angus Chrichton nabbed the one.

Sporting News has tracked the weekly Dally M votes , and with voting behind closed doors after round 13, the vote allocations have been handed off to me to get the early word for you on who will claim the top gong.

Even though Cameron Smith, currently second on my ladder, was electric in the Storm’s win over Manly, earning the maximum three points from me, that still leaves him two points adrift of Tedesco, on 28 points.

Further back, Payne Haas, Jason Taumalolo and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck are locked in a battle for the remaining podium spot.
