Melbourne Storm skipper Cameron Smith scored three votes to place himself in contention for a third Dally M Medal, putting leader and teammate Cameron Munster on notice.

South Sydney's halves are firing and competing for votes against each other with an Origin jumper up for grabs, standing out in South Sydney's win over Penrith.

Sydney Roosters v St George Illawarra Dally M points

Roosters captain Boyd Cordner rolled up his sleeves and led from the front in a gritty Anzac Day battle, notching up 34 tackles and 159 running metres for three votes.

The barnstorming Siosiua Taukeiaho put the nail in the Dragons' coffin with an incredible individual try with three minutes on the clock, taking his running total to a whopping 272 metres for two votes.

While he'd rather forget his final error, Matt Dufty, who earned one vote, was the reason St George Illawarra came so close to upsetting the Roosters, darting through for a riveting try and almost setting up another that was ruled forward.

Melbourne Storm v New Zealand Warriors Dally M points

Like fine wine, Cameron Smith just gets better with age.

The Storm captain masterfully controlled the tempo against New Zealand and helped set up a last-gasp win on Anzac Day.

Facing his former club, Tohu Harris didn't look an inch out of place as he filled in an unfamiliar halves position, setting up a try that almost sparked a major upset for two votes.

Jahrome Hughes, who scored a crucial try after half-time, walked away with one vote.

Canterbury Bulldogs v North Queensland Cowboys Dally M points

Corey Harawira-Naera padded out the stat sheet in all categories, putting up two tries, four offloads, two line breaks, six tackle breaks, 43 tackles and 149 running metres.

Three votes obviously went in his pocket, while workhorses Aiden Tolman and Josh Jackson took home the two and three points respectively.

Penrith Panthers v South Sydney Rabbitohs Dally M points

The red-hot form of the Rabbitohs' halves can barely be separated as Adam Reynolds was crowned with three votes for his exceptional kicking game, while Cody Walker took away two points for a decisive try and try assist.

On the other end, Penrith essentially run all their attack through mammoth Viliame Kikau who gave them a whiff of hope with a bulldozing try for the final vote.

Wests Tigers v Gold Coast Titans Dally M points

Down 14-0, the Tigers turned to Ryan Matterson for some spark who set up a try with a grubber and made a few handy offloads for three votes.

The hard-working Alex Twal cleaned up two votes for his 40 tackles and 149 running metres, while hat-trick hero Mahe Fonua was handed the one vote.

Brisbane Broncos v Cronulla Sharks Dally M points

With pressure mounting on his position, Brisbane's million dollar man Anthony Milford delivered his best performance of the season for three votes, posting two try assists in a demolition of Cronulla.

Returning from a throat injury, Matt Lodge reminded the club of his value with a two-vote display in the middle, while Jack Bird got on the board with one vote against his old club.

Manly Sea Eagles v Canberra Raiders Dally M points

Des Hasler might be running out of halves and fullbacks but there are no shortages of solid hookers on his roster.

Manase Fainu is keeping Apisai Koroisau on his heels with a three-vote performance, playing a pivotal role in Manly's comeback over Canberra.

The aggressive Martin Taupau got off the nudie run and onto the Dally M leaderboard with two votes, while Jack Wighton stole a point for the away side after two early tries.

Newcastle Knights v Parramatta Eels

After five straight losses, Newcastle captain Mitchell Pearce stepped up to the plate and made a late Origin selection claim with a controlled game with the boot and a decisive try for three votes.

Hooker Danny Levi exposed the Eels in the middle and was the catalyst for the Novocastrian's 20-point lead to earn two votes., while Edrick Lee snuck in for one vote.
