South Sydney will welcome Cody Walker back to the fray after the playmaker missed last week’s loss to Newcastle.

The Rabbitohs have endured a horror season with injuries weighing heavily upon them.

Campbell Graham has missed the entirety of the year with a sternum injury, while Junior Tatola, Lachlan Ilias, Jai Arrow, Alex Johnston and Latrell Mitchell have gradually joined him in the casualty ward.

Against the Knights, a heavily depleted side slipped to their fifth straight loss after previously showing signs of revival under interim coach Ben Hornby.

Cody Walker to return from injury for Rabbitohs

Walker’s absence was keenly felt at Accor Stadium with the side unable to really lay a glove on Adam O’Brien’s side during the 36-16 defeat.

The Bunnies face a daunting final two fixtures before the curtain comes down on their campaign.

They travel to the foot of the mountains to take on Penrith in Round 26, who will be desperate to snap a two-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, a bitter battle against their rivals the Sydney Roosters awaits in their final match of the regular season.

Walker has formed a solid partnership alongside Jack Wighton in the backend of the year with the duo combining for 20 tries and assists in total during their nine games together in the halves.

However, Walker’s long-term partner remains up in the air ahead of Wayne Bennett’s return to Redfern next season.

The Bunnies signed England international Lewis Dodd on a lucrative deal from St Helens.

They also still have Lachlan Ilias and Dean Hawkins on their books for 2025, with Jamie Humphreys and Gerome Burns also set to join.

Walker will enter into the final year of his deal next season and wants to go around again, so the veteran playmaker will be eager to impress Bennett and earn another contract extension.
