Canterbury's return to spiritual home Belmore on Saturday was supposed to be a silver lining in what's been a dark cloud of a season for the Bulldogs.
But if their fans thought the season couldn't get any worse, they were wrong.
Missing star players Brett Morris, Josh Morris and Kieran Foran, the Bulldogs simply didn't fire a shot at the Titans.
When Michael Gordon crossed for two early tries, and Ryan James and Anthony Don also went over, the Titans were nearly keeping pace with the clock, leading 22-0 after 24 minutes.

Even at that early stage, the game was over.
So ordinary was the performance that a couple of fans wondered whether other players would want to join Moses Mbye, who played his last game for the Bulldogs before linking up with the Wests Tigers, at the exit door before the June 30 deadline.
I think all the bulldogs wish they were going with mbye #NRLBulldogsTitans

Another blamed the management at the club for the dire state it is in.
Sad to see the empty spaces on the hill at Belmore this afternoon. Goes to show the dramatic impact that poor management of the club, poor relationships with the fans and poor performances on the field can have on attendances. #NRL #NRLBulldogsTitans

Others claimed it was the worst Bulldogs team ever, and the rest simply sunk the boot in.

The Titans seemed to show mercy in the second half, running out 32-10 winners, with Phillip Sami and Kevin Proctor scoring their other tries.
Mbye grabbed a four-pointer in his Bulldogs farewell, and John Olive scored the other for the home side.
