The penultimate regular-season round of the 2024 NRL campaign continues with a cross-Sydney derby which could have a huge sway on the upcoming finals series at the end of the year. Fifth-placed Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs face Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in seventh, with both sides keen to finish as high as they can on the ladder.

Other than minor premiers Melbourne, the Dogs are the first of the sides at the top end of the table in action this weekend, and a win over the Sea Eagles at Accor Stadium will take them into the NRL's top four with just one match left to play before the finals begin.

The Sea Eagles, meanwhile, are assured of a finals place but are still hoping to secure themselves a home game come the second week of September, and should they better North Queensland's result against Melbourne on Thursday, they'll overtake the Cowboys into sixth spot, potentially just a point behind Canterbury.

The Sporting News is on hand to bring you all the latest TV, scheduling and live streaming information ahead of this must-win match for both sides in Round 26 of the 2024 NRL season, as well as start times across Australia.

Bulldogs vs. Sea Eagles match preview

While the Bulldogs and Sea Eagles isn't one of the NRL's traditionally big rivalries, there'll be no love lost between the two teams this weekend as they go toe-to-toe in their respective bids for the top four. The pair are yet to play each other so far in 2024, but the Sea Eagles will certainly be hoping to spoil Canterbury's charge for a top-four place.

The Dogs were one of the big winners in Round 25, defeating the Warriors 34-18 at a packed Go Media Stadium in Auckland to dampen Sean Johnson's farewell match. A surprise loss for three-peat Premiers Penrith at Canberra then opened the door for Canterbury, who are now just two points and one place behind the Panthers in fourth.

Manly, meanwhile, saw their hopes of a home berth in the first week of the finals take a hit in their most recent trip to western Sydney, losing 34-26 to the rock-bottom Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval in Round 25's opening match. The Sea Eagles dropped to seventh behind the Cowboys as a result, and will need to make amends this time around.
