Souths fans were left scratching their heads after Broncos forward Korbin Sims went unpunished for running Adam Reynolds off the ball in the first half at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night.
Reynolds was pursuing a short dropout that was making its way back towards the Broncos in-goal when he was ushered off the chase by Sims.
The referee referred the decision upstairs but Sims was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Check out the video below.
The moment came towards the end of a first half that had been dominated by the home team.
Brisbane got out to an 18-0 lead before Souths made a charge late in the half.
Plenty of Rabbitohs fan watching on at home thought their club was hard done by.
Missed the first half. Questions: Should Sims have been sin-binned? Why are the Broncos wearing a Storm jersey? #NRLBroncosSouths

Can you imagine if that was Slater running through instead of Reynolds? Or not against Bronx? Korbin sent off. Penalty try. 4 weeks suspension. #NRLBroncosSouths

Hey @Todd_Greenberg i seen you reply to a tweet earlier today. So hopefully you will reply to this one. Can you explain why the @NRLBunker have had players binned for 10 for what Sim's did. But it's play on when the #PenaltyBroncos do it? #nrlbroncossouths #nrlBroncosRabbitohs

He deliberately changed his line...? How is that “not” a penalty...? 🤔🤔

While the Bunnies came roaring back into contention, levelling the score at 18-18, the Broncos ran out eventual winners 38-18, with a vital 10 points being added to their points differential and an extra two competition points giving Wayne Bennett's men some breathing room, with 9th placed Wests Tigers stilll in the hunt for finals footballl.
It was a big night for the wingers with the Broncos' Corey Oates and Souths' Richie Kennar both crossing the stripe multiple and being caught out with defensive deficiencies.
A 64th minute barnstorming try from David Fifita also further unscored what a precocious talent the Broncos have on their hands.
