Wests Tigers skippr Api Koroisau has re-signed for a further two years, keeping him at the club until at least the end of the 2026 NRL season.
The 30-year-old joined the Tigers this year and despite poor results, has made an immediate impact both on and off the field after being appointed as club captain.
Koroisau retained his spot in the NSW Origin side earlier this year, but missed the final two games of the series due to a broken jaw, returning for their Round 20 clash with Newcastle.
The dummy-half was already signed until the end of 2024, but his extension will be a major boost for the struggling outfit as they continue their long-term rebuild.

In a statement released on Thursday, Koroisau said he is looking forward to continuing to help the club return to the promised land.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to further demonstrate my commitment to the club," he said.
“I’m excited for the present and the future, and I'm just so proud to be leading our team.
“I’m also excited to be working with the young talent we have coming through and helping them to become great NRL players “
With over 180 first grade appearances across stints with the Rabbitohs, Panthers, Sea Eagles, the three-time premiership winner is regarded as one of the best hookers in the competition.
Tigers CEO Justin Pascoe said the impact Koroisau has made in a short period has not gone unnoticed.
“His leadership has had a positive impact on everyone at the club,” said Pascoe.
“He has a natural ability to influence not only the playing squad but everyone in our family at Wests Tigers.”
Tim Sheens also lauded the star No.9 and the club for getting the new deal sorted prior to the end of this season.
