Penrith will be without star hooker Api Koroisau for around the next six weeks following surgery on a broken wrist.
Koroisau suffered the injury in the Panthers' round one win over North Queensland, with scans revealing the extent of the fracture during the week.
The 28-year-old was initially named at number nine for Penrith's clash against the Bulldogs on Saturday, though Mitch Kenny has now been drafted into the matchday squad.
It's a big blow for Ivan Cleary's side given the combinations Koroisau has formed with halves Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai since joining Penrith ahead of the 2020 season.
Kenny's inclusion is the only change to the team which defeated the Cowboys 24-0 in round one.
Koroisau's wrist also brings to an end a clean run on the injury front for the club - the Fijian international is the only member of the Panther's first-grade side currently unavailable.
For the Bulldogs, they've made one change, with Brad Deitz coming out of the 17 altogether and Jeremy Marshall-King being named at 14.
While the Panthers will be going into the game as hot favourites, Canterbury coach Trent Barrett will be hoping Sydney's wild weather can act as an equaliser as they look for their first win of the year.
