Melbourne Storm and Penrith Panthers are set to battle it out on the field on Sunday for the NRL Premiership.
However, it looks like the warfare has already begun as Storm’s Cameron Munster engaged in a bit of niggling at Panters’ Liam Martin.
Munster told reporters that the two did not like each other during the Kangaroos camp. To this, Martin replied, "I thought we were fine ... obviously we're not".
Andrew Johns commented on the Storm five-eighth’s attempt to stir the pot on Wide World of Sports' Immortal Behaviour.
"You've got two different personalities," Johns said.
"You've got Liam Martin who was the dux of the school and Munster, in all respect, he was the village idiot and I think Munster's playing the game, trying to throw some baits at Liam.
"Liam's probably too smart, he's fired back a little bit intelligently, he hasn't gone right off but they play on the same side of the field.
“I have no doubt Munster's trying to get inside of his head which Liam's too smart for that. The dux of the school doesn't fall for that.”
Munster has since shared that his mother advised him to make amends with Martin.
The 2024 NRL Grand Final is scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 pm AEDT at Accor Stadium.
