Warrington Wolves ran in six tries as they held off a fightback from Hull Kingston Rovers in Sunday's thrilling 32-24 Super League victory.
In an entertaining contest at the Halliwell Jones Stadium it appeared as though the Wolves would pull away after moving 26-18 ahead at half-time.
However, Rovers - who are bottom of the table after four matches - pulled within two, before a late Ben Currie score settled home nerves with the 10th try of the game.
Rovers took just seven minutes to score the game's first try when Josh Mantellato went over after collecting a Kris Welham pass.
Matty Russell and Joel Monaghan both touched down for the Wolves, though, as they were rewarded for concerted pressure, before Joe Philbin added their third score in the 28th minute.
Mantellato reduced the arrears for Rovers before the break with his second try as Wolves led 14-12 at the break.
Kevin Larroyer put Rovers ahead for the second time in the match when he touched down in the 53rd minute, but Gary Wheeler soon put the Wolves back in front when he showed great support to meet Russell's assist.
Russell stretched the lead with his second in the corner just after the hour mark to give the home side an eight-point advantage, but a converted Graeme Horne try set up a frantic ending with the visitors moving within two points.
But any hopes of a late twist were ended when Currie showed the chasing Rovers defence a clean pair of heels, Stefan Ratchford's fourth conversion adding the extra two points for the Wolves, who go third.
