London Welsh have been relegated from the Premiership after Bath picked up a bonus-point 29-14 victory on Sunday.

It has been a miserable season for Welsh, who have failed to win a game all season and have just a solitary point to their name.

Bath did not enjoy it all their own way on a day of heavy rain and strong winds at the Kassam Stadium, but a second-half surge consigned Welsh to their inevitable fate.

The league's bottom club trailed 10-7 at the break, Nic Reynolds' converted score negated by tries from Rob Webber and Leroy Houston.

Bath then pulled clear, Sam Burgess' second Premiership try stretching the lead before Houston's second and a try from Alafoti Fa'osiliva earned the extra point for Bath.

Opeti Fonua reduced the deficit in the 75th minute, but it proved too little too late for Welsh. Bath's five-point haul sees them return to the top three.

Also on Sunday, the Premiership's all-time leading try-scorer Mark Cueto made his 300th appearance for Sale Sharks, but it was team-mate Danny Cipriani who proved the star in their 23-6 victory over Gloucester.

Sale had lost their last two league matches, but England fly-half Cipriani kicked 13 points to boost the Sharks' hopes of a top-four berth.
