“I reckon as players we certainly feel responsibility there, we’re the ones out on the field and we’re the ones that haven’t been getting the results this year and that comes down purely to us,” Foran said.

“They’ve (coaches) been doing the best job that they can do and for some reason or not we weren’t coming away with the wins and I guess that’s footy, it’s a results driven game.

“All the boys respect him and he never lost the dressing room, what he’s done for the club over, I think he said 30 years, has been phenomenal and everyone’s got so much respect for that.

“We just want to do the best job we can as players here on in and hopefully finish the year strong and send him out the way he deserves.”

Finals Footy Desperation

“There’s been such a strong winning culture here that I think as players it’s built into the club, it’s ingrained, it’s a winning club. When you think of Manly you just don’t think of Manly missing the finals and that’s what I think,” he said.

“We’re not in a position to really drop a game so I think we realise how desperate it is and I think that’s why we’re going into every game all guns blazing, because we know that basically our season’s on the line every match from here on in.

“I think if we can get to the eight we’ll be giving it a red hot crack, but we know we’ve got five games to go and we’ve pretty much got to win all five and it doesn’t get any bigger than Souths this Friday.”

Players given their marching orders

“It hasn’t really been spoken about, I guess as players we’re trying to look at it that way.

“We know that there’s been a standard set here for so many years and it’s about getting there and doing the best job we can.

“I guess we can probably feel that we let ourselves down a bit this year with the results and we haven’t got as many wins as we would’ve liked, so I think in the back of our minds we feel like it’s up to us to make sure that we do the best job we can here on in to hopefully make the finals and then we can assess things from there.

“I know that my time is coming to an end in the Manly jersey and I’m just trying to soak up every little bit I’ve got before I move on next year.”

Glenn Stewart's return to The Fortress

Yeah it’ll be good. It’ll probably be mixed emotions for him coming back to ‘Brooky’, but all the boys are looking forward to coming up against him and I’m sure he’s looking forward to having a big one back there."

Why he won't talk about moving to Parramatta in 2016

"I don’t really want to talk about Parra just yet because I’ve still got time left here at Manly and I just want my focus to be fully on Manly. I’ll worry about Parra when I get there next year but I’m not even looking into it to be honest. I just want to focus fully on what I’ve got here at Manly."
