Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has warned that his team can still get better despite sweeping the New Orleans Pelicans.

Curry (39 points) led the Warriors to a 109-98 win over the Pelicans on Saturday to secure a 4-0 series win and place in the Western Conference semi-finals.

But there are still steps to take for the top seeds in the NBA play-offs, according to Curry.

"It's big because you keep that winning mentality, but we still feel like we can play better and [be] more consistent so that will be the mission over the next week before we start the round two," he said.

"Anytime you come into a series against a talented team like they have and you win four straight, that's tough to do against anybody.

"I'm proud of the way we played, the way we competed. Four-nil is a good feeling, we can rest up and like I said continue to get better over the next week and figure out who we play and keep moving."

Anthony Davis finished with 36 points for the Pelicans, who were competitive in patches against the Warriors.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr was happy with the way his team dealt with the pressure of being the number one seeds.

"I think just feeling the pressure on the home, on the road, we are a favourite with the best record, this team has play-off experience the last two years as an underdog," he said.

"I think it's easier as the underdog, you just come out and let it loose, when you are the favourite it's a little different feeling. I thought that was important.

"Both home games we felt a lot of pressure, they outplayed us in several [parts] of each game and our guys had to respond and that was good.

"And of course to come on the road and win two is really an accomplishment and something we can build on."
