Western Sydney could soon begin to challenge Adelaide United as the A-League's home of Spanish exports following the signing of Dimas Delgado.
The 32-year-old holding player has arrived at Pirtek Stadium on a one-year deal, joining compatriot and fellow midfielder Andreu Guerao Mayoral at the 2014 AFC Champions League winners.
Yet another Spaniard, Andres Carrasco, has joined Tony Popovic's coaching staff ahead of the 2015-16 campaign, when the Wanderers - who host Brisbane Roar in the FFA Cup next Tuesday - will be aiming to improve on a disappointing ninth-place finish in the league last term.
All three of Western Sydney's Spanish recruits have spent time at Barcelona, although none with as much success as newly appointed Adelaide coach Guillermo Amor, who made over 300 Liga appearances for the Catalan giants.
Delgado began his career with Gramenet before joining Numancia, Cartagena and Recreativo, via a brief spell with Barca's B side.
"I am very happy with the opportunity and I look forward to getting started with the Wanderers," Dimas said in a statement.
"It will be a very nice experience for me and my family, I'm going to a great country like Australia and a great city and I will do my best to adapt to the city and the club as quickly as possible.
"I wish we have a great season full of success."
The Wanderers have also brought in Mitch Nichols, Andrew Redmayne, Jacob Pepper, Scott Neville, Scott Jamieson and Federico Piovaccari as they seek to rebuild and return to the top half of the A-League table.
