Australia's coaching staff are confident David Pocock will be fit to face Scotland in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.
The Wallabies' star flanker suffered a calf injury in the final game of Pool A last Saturday, a hard-fought 15-6 victory over Wales at Twickenham.
The 27-year-old, who escaped being cited for the use of his knee on opponent Scott Baldwin in that match, has been cleared of any significant strain or tear and will be eased back into training on Wednesday.
"The way we have been selecting the team is if he is fit to play on game day, he is available to be selected," backs coach Stephen Larkham was quoted as saying by Fairfax.
"At this stage he is on track to be right to play. We will wait and see.
"There's a pretty good team here working non-stop to make sure he is right … we gave it an extra day's rest. He is a pretty quick healer and I expect him to start training by the end of the week."
Larkham also dismissed concerns about the form of Israel Folau, who went into the match against Wales carrying a minor ankle injury and struggled to impress at full-back.
"He's a guy who really relishes getting the ball in hand and we didn't get a lot of ball in hand," Larkham said.
"We're not overreacting with any of that sort of stuff. We know he's a quality player and that he'll get more opportunities … to do some amazing stuff."
Australia, who take on Scotland at Twickenham, will play either Ireland or Argentina in the semi-final should they, as expected, prove too strong for Vern Cotter's men.
