According to a statement by the UFC, the 37-year-old admitted to taking a banned substance when representatives of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) collected a sample last week.
Machida said that the was unaware that the substance was banned both in and out of competition
USADA has not identified what Machida admitted to taking or potential sanctions but, according to the UFC statement, disclosure of usage will be taken into consideration during any potential results management and adjudication process.

Having endured a winless 2015, the former light-heavyweight champ’s scheduled fight with Henderson was to be the co-main event.
This is another setback for UFC on FOX with officials last week announcing Tony Ferguson had been pulled from his headlining bout against Khabib Nurmagomedov following a fluid build-up in his lungs.
I feel like the UFC's statement writer must be developing a callus at this point.
