The International Cycling Union (UCI) has dismissed reports that Astana have had their World Tour license revoked.
Cycling's world governing body previously requested that the Kazakh team's 2015 license be withdrawn after an audit into doping allegations surrounding the team was conducted.
Astana, who vowed to take any ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, were originally granted a license in December, but the UCI referred the matter to the organisation's License Commission.
A report in Dutch daily De Telegraaf suggested that a decision had already been reached, meaning Astana would not be allowed a World Tour license and could only apply for a Continental license.
But the UCI insist that the case has not yet been heard.
"Following a misleading article published today in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) would like to clarify that no hearing has yet taken place in the Astana case and therefore no decision has been made," a UCI statement read.
"The UCI won't make any further comment until the Licence Commission has rendered its decision."
Astana, for whom Vincenzo Nibali won the Tour de France in 2014, saw Artur Fedoseyev, Ilya Davidenok, Viktor Okishev and Maxim and Valentin Iglinskiy all return positive samples late last year.
