England's Jonathan Trott lasted just three deliveries on his first Test appearance for 17 months against West Indies on Monday.

Trott was chosen to open the batting alongside captain Alastair Cook for his first Test match since departing early from the 2013-14 Ashes series in Australia due to a stress-related illness.

However, the right-hander was sent back to the pavilion after facing just three balls when he edged Jerome Taylor to Darren Bravo at first slip.

The 33-year-old was named in the squad for the tour of the West Indies after impressing in domestic cricket with Warwickshire as well as featuring for England Lions in South Africa earlier this year.

The match marks Trott's 50th Test cap, but he will have to wait until the second innings to add to the 3,763 runs he scored during his first 49 appearances.
