Tiger Woods will play with TaylorMade clubs in 2017, having previously used the company's equipment early in his career.

Woods and TaylorMade confirmed the news on Wednesday, the former world number one having been on the hunt for a new club supplier since Nike announced they were pulling out of the equipment market last year.

In a statement on their website, TaylorMade said: "Tiger used TaylorMade for many of his earliest milestones, including the 1994 and 1995 US Amateurs.

"We're proud to have him back, and we can only look forward for what's to come."

Woods, who has slipped to 663rd in the world amid much-publicised injury troubles, will make his first PGA Tour appearance in 18 months at the Farmers Insurance Open this week.

Although Nike have withdrawn from the golf equipment market, they continue to supply apparel to the 14-time major champion.
