Here's a first: Tiger Woods had two double bogeys on par-5 holes Saturday. It's something that hadn't happened in more than 1,100 rounds on the PGA Tour.

With a 40 to open Saturday's third round, Woods made sure he wouldn't be playing for a title at The Players Championship. Only a miracle can make him a contender. He finished with a 75.

Among the amazing sights Saturday at TPC Sawgrass: Woods uncorking a 105-yard drive.

Yes, 105 yards. Woods has been an unhappy hooker at the Florida course, and this ugly twist to the left bull's-eyed a tree, ricocheted back and landed in pine straw.

That folly at No. 2 concluded sloppy shots and missed putts. He duplicated the 7 at No. 9.

His only salvation? This birdie on No. 7.

There's always Sunday ...
