In the Octagon he could telegraph his shot and still get away with it and it seems Anderson Silva delivers outside the cage as well.
Early Friday, the former light-heavyweight champ – and G.O.A.T in many, if not all, MMA fans eyes – took to Instagram to put his hand up to take the place of Jon Jones at UFC 200.
"Is it worth it to be a winner?Maybe, maybe not,” Silva wrote on his Instagram post.
“Obviously, everything has an expiration date. Improvement demands self-awareness to know when to make an extra effort and when to stop. Here at Muay Thai College, we train until it's impossible for things to go wrong. And we never stop. Because life is like water. If it stays still, it rots. Vegas, here we go."
The post was finally confirmed by TMZ, who confirmed the news with the UFC. The fight will be 3 rounds, and will not be for Cormier’s light heavyweight championship.
The news was then relayed by everyone’s favourite UFC newshound Ariel Helwani via Twitter:
Daniel Cormier vs. Anderson Silva will be added to UFC 200. 3 round, light heavyweight fight. TMZ confirmed with UFC.
