Sydney Kings Head coach Andrew Gaze has revealed he thinks the wave of terror attacks around the world can benefit the NBL.
Talking at a media conference marking the end of his first week of training with the Kings, Gaze declared that unrest in the rest of the world can work in the Aussie national league's favour.
"Right now a lot of agents and players are curious about Australia, and a lot of it's got to do with the climate out there, with a lot of terrorism acts and the instability of these countries that have traditionally
paid significant money for international players to go there," Gaze said, with countries such as France and Turkey clearly the target of his comments.
"There is a significant fear factor that's out there and for whatever reason people see Australia as very safe, and some of them say 'to heck with the money, I want to be able to live in a situation where I feel safe.' And although it's disappointing, that instability in the world is actually working in our favour."
