Phil Taylor bounced back from a first-match defeat with a dominant 7-2 Premier League Darts win over Adrian Lewis in Bournemouth on Thursday.
Six-time Premier League champion Taylor was beaten by Gary Anderson - who also defeated Taylor in the World Championship final last month - in the opening round in Leeds last week.
However, Taylor got up and running a week later with a resounding victory over fellow Stoke man Taylor - averaging a hugely impressive 108.3 and landing 70 per cent on the doubles.
There was no sign of the comprehensive victory which was to come when Lewis - who demolished defending champion Raymond van Barneveld 7-1 last week - moved 2-1 ahead.
But Taylor won six consecutive legs and rounded off the win by hitting bullseye and double-eight.
Anderson warmed up for next week's mouth-watering match against last season's Premier League runner-up Michael van Gerwen with a 7-1 thrashing of Peter Wright.
Scot Anderson averaged 106.94 and had four 100-plus finishes in an impressive performance.
World number one Van Gerwen was also in fine form in his 7-3 triumph over Stephen Bunting.
Bunting hit four 180s and averaged 50 per cent on doubles, but Van Gerwen's class shone through and the Dutchman has now won 26 of 27 matches since he relinquished his world title last month.
The staggering high quality of darts continued as 2009 winner James Wade averaged over 104 in a comfortable 7-2 beating of Kim Huybrechts.
The evening finished with a thrilling contest which saw Dave Chisnall defeat Van Barneveld 7-5.
Van Barneveld appeared to be on the cusp of victory when he won a tight ninth leg to move 5-4 ahead, but Chisnall fought back to nick the win.
