After seeing his downhill lead trimmed further in Kvitfjell, Kjetil Jansrud will hope to end his weekend on home slopes by clinching the super-G globe in the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup.
A late surge of downhill form from Hannes Reichelt - including victory in Saturday's race in Kvitfjell - has seen him cut Jansrud's lead to just 20 points with one race remaining.
While Reichelt is breathing down Jansrud's neck in the downhill, the Norwegian looks certain to win a first career globe in the super-G.
Indeed, if he can extend his 73-point lead over second-placed Dominik Paris to more than 100 points this weekend, he will be guaranteed to top the discipline's standings with just one super-G race to follow in Meribel.
Jansrud will be confident of doing just that in front of home support, having won the super-G contest on his last two visits to Kvitfjell.
And with two victories and a further pair of podiums to his name in super-G this season, it would take a huge turnaround to overhaul him at the top of the leaderboard.
Speaking on his chances of winning two globes, Jansrud said: "Hannes is on a cloud right now
"I still want to win both the super-G and downhill globes and it would be a great disappointment if I failed after leading for most of the season."
Paris is Jansrud's nearest challenger in super-G and the Italian looks certain to finish in the top three of the discipline's standings for the first time in his career.
His last two visits to Kvitfjell have resulted in 12th and 13th places in super-G.
Matthias Mayer was the winner of the last super-G contest in Saalbach on February 22, also winning a downhill race at the same venue that weekend.
That moved him third in the super-G standings, ahead of Reichelt in fourth.
