Scotland have made two changes from the team that lost to France last weekend for Sunday's Six Nations match against Wales, with Sean Lamont and Geoff Cross coming in to the starting XV.

Glasgow Warriors winger Lamont is Scotland's most capped player in the squad with 91 appearances and he has 12 international tries.

He returns from a calf complaint that ruled him out of the spirited 15-8 reverse to France and replaces club-mate Tommy Seymour, who is sidelined with a hip injury picked up in Paris.

Cross replaces Euan Murray at tight-head prop, the Warriors man is unavailable to play on Sunday due to his religious beliefs.

Jon Welsh subsequently steps up to the replacements to take the place vacated by Cross.

"Last weekend's performance, in terms of line-breaks and heart, was encouraging," head coach Vern Cotter told Scottish rugby's official website ahead of the clash at Murrayfield.

"We defended well and our line-out, scrum and defence stood up to a very stern French assessment.

"I'm pleased we were in a situation to contest the match throughout, but we left the paddock very frustrated and disappointed that we didn't get more from the game - and I think that's a good measure of this squad.

"There's a huge amount of determination in this group to improve, with the challenge now to go one step further and deliver a winning performance for our home fans at a full Murrayfield.

"The boys loving playing at home. The fans were outstanding throughout the autumn and we're looking forward to getting back out there, pulling on the jersey, rolling up our sleeves and having a good crack at a powerful Welsh side."
