Rugby league star Jarryd Hayne has signed a three-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers, the NFL team confirmed on Tuesday.
The two-time Dally M Medal winner announced he had agreed to a futures deal with the NFL team, who have confirmed a three-year contract.
After quitting rugby league in October, Hayne travelled to the United States and pursued several options to get his name onto an NFL roster - with the Detroit Lions and 49ers the two franchises heavily linked with his services.
Less than 24 hours after Hayne announced the deal, the 49ers confirmed it in a statement.
"The San Francisco 49ers announced Tuesday they have signed undrafted free agent Jarryd Hayne to a three-year deal," the team said.
