Rose leads Bulls past Cavs image

Derrick Rose led the Chicago Bulls to a 113-98 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA on Thursday.

Rose hit 30 points and provided seven assists for the Bulls at United Center, helping his team edge clear atop the Eastern Conference's Central Division.

The Bulls are 1.5 games clear of the Cavs heading to the All-Star break, with NBA games resuming on February 19.

Pau Gasol (18 points and 10 rebounds) and Joakim Noah (10 points and 15 rebounds) both had double-doubles in the Bulls' win, while Tony Snell contributed 22 points.

LeBron James had a game-high 31 points for the Cavs, who were outscored in every quarter away from home.

The Bulls led 55-48 at half-time and they were in control throughout the second half, going 19 points up with under five minutes remaining.

Timofey Mozgov finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Cavs, while Kyrie Irving (17 points) and Tristan Thompson (10) also had double-digit points.

The NBA All-Star weekend begins with the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday.
