Rory McIlroy's recovery is nearing an end.
The four-time major champion has been out since Jan. 15 — when he lost a playoff to Graeme Storm in the South African Open — because of a stress fracture in his ribs. McIlroy's manager confirmed Monday that he will play in next week's WGC-Mexico Championship.

“That’s still the plan,” Sean O’Flaherty said, via golfchannel.com.
There is no cut at the exclusive WGC event formerly played at Trump National Doral. Mexico City’s Club de Golf Chapultepec will host the event this year.
Before returning to the Tour, McIlroy played a practice round with President Donald Trump himself.

McIlroy has received quite a bit of backlash, understandably so, for posing and playing with Trump.
Last year, in June, McIlroy joked about the Tour moving one of it's flagship events from Trump's course to Mexico amidst the wall controversy.
"It's quite ironic that we're going to Mexico after being at Doral," McIlroy said, via sbnation.com. "We just jump over the wall."
The PGA Tour is in Florida this week for the Honda Classic, where Adam Scott will try to defend his title.
