Brendan Rodgers' side, though, will face the Roar at Suncorp Stadium on July 17, followed by a clash with Josep Gombau's men at Adelaide Oval three days later.
The Merseyside giants are returning after the enormous success of their friendly against Melbourne Victory at a packed Melbourne Cricket Ground in July 2013.
"We visited Australia for the first time two years ago and the support we received from our Australian fans was incredible," chief executive Ian Ayre said in a statement.
"Liverpool FC has over 600,000 supporters in Australia and we look forward to meeting as many of them as possible while we are in the country.
"Pre-season is an important time for the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and the matches against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United are an exciting part of that preparation, giving our supporters a chance to see the team up close, no matter how far away from Anfield they live."
The Reds may run into issues, however, seeing as their clash with Adelaide United is scheduled for just over 24 hours after the second AFL showdown clash between Port Adelaide and Adelaide at the venue.
While the venue has a quality pitch with superb drainage, it would still seem that ground staff will have their work cut out getting the ground ready for a game featuring an English Premier League side, especially if it was badly chopped up from the night before.
While the Reds would want to get a good hit-out, they may also be unlikely to risk some players on a muddy pitch.
Indeed, there has been a previous precedent where such a scenario emerged, with Celtic almost cancelling a pre-season clash with Perth Glory at nib Stadium in July 2011 over pitch concers, with the game only going ahead after industrial water removal equipment and helicoptors were used to dry out the ground.
Liverpool will be joined in Australia in July by Real Madrid, Roma and Manchester City for the International Champions Cup.
High-profile opposition are also expected to be announced for an exhibition game with the A-League All Stars, who played Manchester United in 2013 and Juventus last year.
