Shell Houston Open tee times: Last chance to win before the Masters image

Jordan Spieth won the Valspar Championship and finished second last week to Jimmy Walker at the Valero Texas Open. So all he needs is one more good tournament to head into the Masters.

His opportunity comes at the Shell Houston Open, which begins Thursday.

By the way, Tiger Woods continues to tune up for the Masters. He played a practice round on Tuesday at Augusta National. And he reportedly shot a worst-ball 66 recently on his home course. Woods won't have played a PGA competition since two West Coast events, when he badly missed a cut and withdrew at Torrey Pines.

Another strong showing would help Spieth because this week's field includes several golfers who look solid as they prepare to play at Augusta. Don't overlook Lee Westwood, Matt Kuchar and Sergio Garcia.

Kuchar was runner-up in last season's tournament at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, Texas. It takes strong play around the greens to win this tournament, and Kuchar is among players who are doing well near the hole.

Particulars: Play begins at 8:20 a.m. ET Thursday and runs through Sunday. The winner gets $1.188 million of the $6 million purse. Radio coverage by SiriusXM throughout the tournament. TV coverage by The Golf Channel all four days, with NBC airing play at 3 p.m. ET Saturday and Sunday.
