Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa will miss the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez having failed to recover sufficiently from an arm injury.
The Spaniard underwent surgery on the problem in early April and subsequently missed meets in the United States and Argentina.
Pedrosa confirmed on Tuesday that he did not feel fit enough to feature in Jerez, having tested his arm during a practice session on Monday.
"I won't be in Jerez. Yesterday I tried to ride a supermoto bike to check my arm. Even though at first it felt OK, after riding my forearm still didn't feel 100 per cent," Pedrosa wrote in a blog post for Repsol Honda.
"I know that if I do a whole race by the weekend it will be much worse, and the last thing I want is to create another big problem.
"I think the best is to wait a while longer, go ahead with the rehabilitation and be back in Le Mans.
"I'm really looking forward to being with the team again. Since the pre-season began they have been working like crazy and they deserve the best.
"I will update you next week."
