Undefeated Kiwi boxer Joseph Parker has successfully defended his WBO heavyweight world title after claiming a points-decision victory over Hughie Fury at the Manchester Arena.

Parker, who is now 24-0, claimed the win after two judges awarded the fight 118-110 in his favour with the third judge unable to split the pair.
Despite being in front of his home crowd, Fury tired late on in a fierce bout which saw Parker finish strongest to ensure the Englishman was handed his first professional defeat.
"Fury moved well, he was awkward," Parker said post-fight.
"I caught him with the harder punches, and feel I won the fight fairly.
"It’s a great result, but I want to go back to New Zealand and have a bit of a break now.
"I feel that this opens up big fights here, we can come back and set up another big fight."
Parker claimed the vacant heavyweight title in December last year after beating Andy Ruiz Jr. before defending it against Razvan Cojanu in May.
