Two-time Miami Open winner Andy Murray booked his place in this year's final with a 6-4 6-4 victory over Tomas Berdych on Friday.
Murray tasted success at the event in Florida in 2009 and 2013 and the number three seed remains on course for a third title win after a hard-fought straight-sets victory against his Czech opponent.
A first-serve points percentage of 80 per cent helped Murray edge a tight contest to put him within one victory of his 10th ATP World Tour Masters 1000 title.
Berdych, seeded eighth, was ensured a place in the final four following Juan Monaco's quarter-final retirement, but came off worse in an error-strewn start that saw the first three games go against the serve.
The quality improved from thereon in, but that topsy-turvy start - edged narrowly by Murray - proved decisive to give the two-time major winner the first-set honours.
It was the same story at the start of the second - Berdych being broken, breaking back and then immediately surrendering his serve again to leave Murray in command.
Berdych was ultimately beaten by Murray for the second time this year, following the pair's Australian Open semi-final meeting in January.
The result levels up their head-to-head record after 12 meetings, with Murray now awaiting the winner of defending champion Novak Djokovic and home favourite John Isner.
