Muhammad Ali hospitalised with respiratory infection image

Muhammad Ali is in fair condition after being hospitalised for a respiratory infection.

Bob Gunnell, a spokesman for the boxing legend's family, released a statement to multiple news outlets about Ali's condition Thursday that said "a brief hospital stay is expected."

Ali has battled Parkinson's disease for years and was hospitalised in December 2014 and January 2015 for treatment of a urinary tract infection that was initially diagnosed as pneumonia.

The former heavyweight champion now lives in Arizona.
