Taggart, 21, hasn't played for the Championship club since arriving at Craven Cottage in the wake of an A-League golden boot-winning campaign with the Newcastle Jets last season.
Having undergone groin surgery in September, the forward trained with the first team ahead of Fulham's match against Huddersfield Town this weekend, only to encounter another hurdle.
"Adam came in, did the warm-up, did a bit of passing and then just had a little slip and slightly felt his abductor," Fulham manager Kit Symons said.
"Again, it was very, very slight but it's just put him back that little bit again. It's not a big one by any stretch, the physio's not worried at all."
Taggart played for the Socceroos at the World Cup but will need to prove his fitness and force his way into the Cottagers' team if he is to stand any chance of playing at the Asian Cup on home soil in January.
